Tutorial for Making a Site
First, you must decide what you want your site to be about. Some ideas are doll site, graphic site, fanlisting, christian site, anything you want.
Now you must choose a host. I'd suggest you choose a host that offers free accounts so that you may get some experience and get a chance to see if yoy really want a site.
Try one of these:
Now you'll need to know html. i have some html tutorials for you but that might not be enough. try going to Google.com and search for Html Tutorial Guide or something like that and i'm sure that you'll find lots of help. Also there are some other doll sites that offer some great tutorials.
Now you'll need a layout. I'd suggest making your own, rather than depending on other people to get layouts but that is totally up to you. First you should find a Frame tutorial. That is for your layout. if you have Frames on your site, it's like a page is divided into a certain number of pages (usually 4) where you can view the main page, the menu, the submenu and the decorative top all at the same time. It also makes your site more organized and helps your visitors to navigate easily.
Without any experience, your site might not be the greatest site at first, but don't give up and don't get discouraged. If you work hard on it, i'm sure it'll be great.
To make a layout and graphics to decorate it, you'll need a design program. I recommend Microsoft Paint, Animation Shop & Paint Shop Pro from Jasc.com and there are other programs you can use as well.
Now it is time to add some content. You should add things that will attract people and make your site more interesting but make sure you add what makes you happy though. BE ORIGINAL!
i would recommend that before you start getting visitors, you should continue to experiment with different html codes and with different layouts. Look at some other sites, similar to yours and get inspired. Don't copy them or steal their original ideas but get inspired.
When you are completely satisfied with your site, start to promote it. Let people know about your site. Tell your friends you're URL, tag people's tag board, apply to be on buttonwalls, sign up topsites lists to make your site well known.
Keep on advertising your site, keep on adding new and interesting things and make sure you be online-safe and have fun.
Remember to never place on your website your last name, where you live (country is ok), your phone number or anything that people can use to track you down. Not every body is friendly on the internet.
